First of all, the SS United States is old. Really old. We’re talking about a ship that was launched in 1952. That’s before color TV, before the first man walked on the moon, and before the invention of the Internet. Heck, it’s even before the invention of the Happy Meal! So, it’s safe to say that the ship is a bit outdated.
But it’s not just the age of the ship that’s the problem. It’s also the fact that the SS United States was designed for a different era. Back in the 1950s, people traveled by ship because it was the fastest way to cross the ocean. But these days, we have planes that can get us from one continent to another in a matter of hours. So, why would anyone want to spend days on a ship when they could just hop on a plane?
